The last city of transfer window, Arsenal scouted Mesut Özil from Real Madrid. After scouted Özil, Arsenal gained the lead in English Premier League table.
Meanwhile, Arsenal lost 1-3 by Borussia Dortmund in 3rd match of 2013-14 UEFA Champions League Group Stage that held at Emirates Stadium(home stadium of Arsenal) in 22 October 2013. As a result, Arsenal's uptrend was stopped.
And Arsenal showed a weakness that Arsenal never showed. If Özil was blocked by Dortmund's defenders then Arsenal never showed fast-moving attack.
Özil takes a role of playmaker not current team Arsenal but ex team Real Madrid. So Özil's team lost game that Özil was blocked by relative defense.
